Learning Enhancement Programme
The Learning Enhancement Programme is for adult students with moderate to severe learning difficulties.
Course Overview
The overall aim of the LEP is to improve social, personal and employability skills. The primary qualification delivered is 5546 C&G Certificate in Employability and Personal Development.
The units are chosen each year to reflect the learners' needs and can be adapted through the very flexible programme. In recent years, groups have completed units such as Personal Finance, Healthy Living, ICT, Personal Skills and Safe Learning in the Workplace. An added benefit is that Literacy and Numeracy skills are enhanced throughout the year, although not formally assessed.
This part-time programme is mainly delivered off-site with students completing one or two units each year from the C&G 5546 qualification at Entry Level 2 or 3.
A portfolio of work is built up throughout the year and assessed on a weekly basis by your tutor.
The programme may lead to or strengthen already existing placements in voluntary or part-time employment within a range of settings, i.e. horticulture, catering, retail or charity work.
