ACCREDITATION OF PRIOR LEARNING

Accreditation of prior learning is a process by which you may be awarded credits for learning what you have gained in the past and which is relevant to the course to which you have applied. It may also help you gain entry to the programme if you do not have the required entry qualifications. This may be certificated or experiential learning.

Entry Requirements
The typical learner for this qualification will be 19 years and older, working in industry and will hold a Level 3 automotive technical qualification and/or an advanced apprenticeship.
 
They should have experience of diagnosing and rectifying faults on a wide range of vehicle systems, inculding electrical system operations.
 
Learners will enjoy liasing with people, support a team, delegate work and provide technical guidance and coaching. They will advise customers on technical issues and deal with complaints.
 
Learners may have recently progressed into management, or have been identified as having future management potential.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
As well as gaining a recognised qualification, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in relation to giving presentations, report writing and carrying out research.
Where will it take me?
Learners will demonstrate their knowledge and skills by passing IMI Award set assignments for all units and passing IMI Award online tests on fundamental management principles and providing technical support to colleagues.
