Course Overview
This course is about being employed full time and being able to achieve an NVQ qualification.
 
You will not be eligible if you have already obtained equivalent level of qualification in a related vocational area.
Entry Requirements
Students will need to provide the following in order to be considered:
 
  • Copies of all qualifications for verification
  • Valid form of identification
  • Valid form of Birth certificate (verification of age)
  • Need Access NI checked before taking up their employment
  • Must be employed from day one with registered Adult Health and Social care organisation and have a minimum of 21 hours per week in employment.
  • Employer must be agreeable to contractual arrangement with Training Organisation within SERC and must have employer liability & public liability insurance.

Students who have not already obtained GCSEs at grade C or above in English, Maths & ICT will be required to undertake Essential Skills Literacy, Numeracy and ICT at level 1.

Access NI clearance will need to be processed for each student at a cost of £33 (If not already have one done and is valid within the year)

Where will it take me?
This qualification can lead to further roles within the Health sector profession or on to a Level 3 programme.
How will it make me more employable?
Students will be supported to study and achieve Level 2 in Health & Social Care studying both mandatory and a range of optional units.  Gaining most of their experience and knowledge by being in the workplace.
How will I be assessed and given feedback?
Applicants will be enrolled as students within the Training Organisation and registered with the appropriate Awarding Centres for their programmes of study.
 
Underpinning knowledge delivered on campus with Assessors supporting students to provide sufficient evidence to show competency including direct observations in the workplace.
