Course Overview
This 2 year course is the equivalent to 1 A Level and will be delivered over 7 hours per week.

This course will give you the opportunity to take on further responsibilities within the workplace at a Supervisory Level, enhance your skills to gain Promotion or expand abilities to take on new challenges

Modules you will study may include:

Core units:
 • Carrying out your responsibilities at work
 • Working within your business environment

In addition, there will be 3 optional units from a range of 23 available units.

Optional units:
 • Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
 • Managing customer relations
 • Managing diary systems
 • Operating office equipment
 • Organising and supporting meetings
 • Researching and reporting information
 • Producing documents
 • Working effectively with other people

 • Organise events

 

You will also work towards a Personal Development qualification and will be involved in a range of activities, designed to improve your employability. 

You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy or ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C in English or Maths or Computing.
Entry Requirements

Entry requirements include the following:
• BTEC Level 2 Diploma/NVQ Level 2 in Business Admin  or 4 GCSE’s at Grade C or above
• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above or equivalent e.g. Essentials Skills Level 2
You will be required to undertake a work-placement in a relevant business during your course.

You will need to be employed to enrol onto the course.

Where will it take me?
Successful completion of this course could lead to enhanced employment opportunities within the field of Business Administration or further study at Level 4 in Business Administration (Executive Secretary Diploma).
How will it make me more employable?

• Gaining a vocational qualification demonstrating your technical competence
• Gaining a Personal Development qualification demonstrating your employability skills (communication, teamwork, critical thinking)

You will be assessed throughout the course:

You will plan a programme of development and assessment with an assessor, and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that you are competent and knowledgeable in a work role.

There is a one-to-one review with an assessor on your progress.
